Supported Internship Programme

Spending time with the incredible young people on the Supported Internship programme was a powerful reminder of what determination, courage and hope really look like.
I heard about their journeys — their work placements, their ambitions, and the skills they’re building every single day. From animal care to IT, from retail to football stadium operations, they are embracing every opportunity with such enthusiasm and pride.
What moved me most was not just what they are achieving, but who they are becoming — kind, resilient, reliable and determined young people, learning to believe in themselves and their futures.
Their stories stayed with me long after I left — moments of challenge, growth, compassion and joy. These are the experiences shaping their confidence and opening doors.
Championing skills, opportunity and pathways into meaningful work is at the very heart of my priorities — and I remain committed to my ambition of creating a Greater Lincolnshire Trade Skills College, so more young people can learn vital, hands‑on skills, gain real experience, and step confidently into good, secure jobs.
I left feeling incredibly proud and deeply inspired.
These young people are the future — and what a bright, hopeful future it is.
