Orstead Apprentices

I also visited Orstead to meet the fabulously talented apprentices. I may not agree with the companies mission to "create a world that runs entirely on green energy", however they do a cracking apprenticeship where young people can learn engineering and mechanical skills. They have a first class training operation and fascility. I was pleased to have met the dynamic team, most of whom are from the local area, and hear that many had previously worked in the oil and gas sector. I also outlined my plan to get our Lincolnshire people skilled, ready for when Reform UK gets into government, and lifts the moratorium on fracking.

As Mayor, I will ensure we have the skills ready so that jobs go to local people.
