Meeting Residents in Billingborough to discuss Flooding

I was in Billingborough meeting residents this week and saw the devastation in their homes left by the recent flooding. It's nonesenical to see that ditiches have been filled over the years, rivers, drains, and banks not being dredged. Also, I hear how some councils in the East Midlands have given those homeowners affected by flooding, relief from paying their council tax for a few months. This should be happening in Lincolnshire too!

Governments of all levels and all colours have let down the people of #Lincolnshire. If you elect me as your Mayor, I will set up and lead an action committee that will have key partners, including district councils, central government, Environment Agency, Drainage Boards, etc. We need to metaphorically bang heads together. It is about time we stopped the silo approach and have decisive action. Action Not Just Words. I will be the voice of the silent majority.
