I greatly admire and respect the tough farming community, but I believe the farming communities could do a lot more to protect themselves from thefts of farm animals and valuable farm equipment by using drones, and hidden cctv cameras in the dark of night.
If they fitted cctv to the main roads leading to the farm it could then alert the farmier to put up his drone. The drone could silently follow any 'large' vehicle. If the lorry/truck goes into a farmyard or field unlawfully, lay down 'stop sticks' to prevent the loaded vehicle from going back onto the main road. You can then contact the police with proof of intent to steal.
