ABP Steel Signing

Today I attended the Steel Signing between Associated British Ports & British Steel at the fantastic new Helm @ Immingham.
ABP has begun work on the first phase of a major project that will bring new industrial and logistics units to Immingham. This is a big vote of confidence in our region and a real boost for local jobs and businesses.
The site will support small and medium sized businesses in energy, engineering, manufacturing and port logistics, helping our local economy grow and creating opportunities close to home.
Immingham and Grimsby are at the heart of the UK’s trade network, and investments like this strengthen our role as the UK’s number one gateway for global trade. The site is also supporting British jobs and British Steel.
This is exactly the kind of long term investment our communities deserve, and I look forward to seeing this development deliver real benefits for local people in October.
